Free, consider making a donation to IYC if you can.
“If Police/ICE are on our streets, we too will be on the streets: resisting, informing and organizing our communities.” – IYC LA
The Immigrant Youth Coalition is an undocumented and Queer/Trans youth-led organization based in California. We are also part of the ICE out LA Coalition, working to train volunteers to show up for undocumented community members by participating in our Rapid Raid Response and Deportation Defense Network.
This training will provide an introduction to best practices in Raid Response and Deportation Defense, including:
- Poli-ICE (Police/ICE) Watch: Recording & Reporting Best Practices
- Documentation, and Legal Observation
- Overview of ICE raids, tactics and strategies
- Operation of Rapid Raid Response hotline/phone tree
- Know Your Rights education
…and more.
If you would like to equip yourself with tools and information to be ready to respond to ICE raid alerts through the IYC’s Raid Response phone tree, and to use your power to show up for the rights of undocumented and/or immigrant community members, this training is for you.
Co-Sponsored by the Here to Stay LA: Echo Park Chapter, this workshop asks for a $10-$25 sliding scale donation to the IYC to support their radical efforts in organizing for societal change to end the criminalization of immigrants and people of color.
