A concert of improvised works about music and wellbeing conceived by music therapist Deborah Seabrook.
Three Rogerian Pieces invites the audience to acoustically experience Congruence, Unconditional Positive Regard, and Empathy. Musical material from divsere music therapy clients is shared in the piece Life Is…. Join us for this evening of engaging and contempetative improvised music.
Deborah Seabrook is a music therapy clinician and educator and an improvising pianist. In her clinical work, Deborah specializes in music-centered music therapy, working primarily in mental health and with professional musicians and artists. Deborah’s performances explore notions of community wellbeing. She has taught music therapy at McGill University, Concordia University, and Wilfrid Laurier University and is completing her PhD in music, health and wellbeing. Deborah currently lives in Montréal with her partner and makes frequent trips to the ocean.
