Creative people often get super weird about money. It makes us sad. We’re creative people who don’t get weird about money and enjoy helping other creative people get un-weird about money. As long-time hustlers and successful small business owners, we’re also both fascinated by the overwhelming similarities between how to make money and how to navigate intimacy and relationships.
Money is boring, but sex is sexy, so we decided to talk about money by talking about sex.
This workshop will take you through the process of understanding the value of your work, figuring out how to communicate about it and get paid well for it. From new business to how to navigate clients that ask for too much, the struggle and the solutions are no different that how to navigate Tinder, love and marriage.

Nina Beckhardt is the founder of global branding agency The Naming Group and cofounder of the creative incubator Art of Freelance Nina is a recognized authority on brand naming and longtime mentor of creative professionals. In addition to leading work with Proctor & Gamble, GM, PUMA, Capital One and other corporate behemoths she has been published The Economist, Forbes, CNN, and has presented on brand innovation in corporate boardrooms and entrepreneurship classrooms. When she is not helping huge companies craft language to make money, she is working intimately with creative people helping them find their voice and confidence in their true calling.
Nina lives in a little bungalow in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, Andrew. The bungalow is too small for both of them but it’s really pretty there and they like each other so it works out. When she’s not working, Nina likes to go camping, tend to her drought-tolerant garden and narrate the voices of dogs at the dog park.
Paco de Leon is a musician who happens to be killer at finance. She has spent most of her career working with creatives who also do business. Her experience ranges from business consulting, business management, financial planning, wealth management and she even spent some time at a big, evil bank. Her experiences have lead her to found The Hell Yeah Group, a financial firm focused on inspiring creatives to be engaged with their personal and business finances and more importantly, to give them the tools and support to stop freaking out about it.
She lives in the Echo Park neighborhood in sunny Los Angeles with her wife Jenn. She plays in a band called Mister Fantasy, is the founder of a boutique bookkeeping company called Hell Yeah, Bookkeeping and a co-founder of the arts-based non profit organization, Allies in Arts.
