Come meet new friends, discover new tunes and a new appreciation for hula hooping. Dance in the sun with Salima Allen as we connect in the feminine act of celebrating curves and circles through dance. Admire the circle and dance within it as its form mirrors your own. With no beginning or end, hula hooping symbolizes the never-ending circle of life! This workshop will begin with intros and a brief history of the hoop, then together we will learn tricks that can be done one the hoop, ending with free dance time, and snacks with new friends!
Bring a snack or beverage to share.
Bring your own hoop or extra hoops if you can, otherwise hoops will be provided!
Salima Allen is an artist living and working in LA. She has been hooping for 6 months and uses this practice to eliminate stress, exercise, and as an inspiring observation of the woman’s body and our connection to the moon and other natural, curved forms.
