In this workshop, participants will learn to make:

  1. An anti-bacterial healing balm for cuts, scrapes, and burns
  2. A bruise & muscle balm
  3. Natural mosquito repellant

The cost of the workshop will cover ingredients, materials, and shipping costs to make a large batch of “Healing Kits” to send to Puerto Rico, where they will be distributed to people in rural areas via the Center for Embodied Pedagogy and Action. Each participant will take home their own Healing Kit and a bilingual (English-Spanish) zine with the information covered in the workshop.

This workshop will benefit The Center for Embodied Pedagogy and Action in Puerto Rico (CEPA): www.decolonizepr.com

Mireya Lucio is an artist, performer, witch, and postpartum doula from Puerto Rico.

Our program costs go directly towards compensation of the instructors and staffers who work the event. We want to make programming as accessible as possible to anyone who is interested, however, so we offer volunteer opportunities in exchange for membership, as well as free community tickets to each program (number varies depending on capacity of the class). Email info@wccw.us for more info or to find out more about these opportunities for a specific event.
