Social media is an extension of your brand whether it’s for personal use or on behalf of an organization. It can make or break a first impression. It can also lead to stellar relationships with existing audiences. Yet knowing how to shape content for a zillion platforms can be tricky.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on how to brand yourself as an artist. We’ll explore Instagram as a tool for exposure and talk about how Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn and newsletters can help cultivate your community. Ultimately, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of who you are on the Internet.

This class will be informational and interactive. You’ll make friends while developing a better eye for good Internet.

This class is led by Kristen Lepore, who works as a part-time social media editor at L.A. Weekly. Previously she oversaw projects at Southern California Public Radio (KPCC). In her free time, she runs a digital strategy and podcast consulting business. Clients have included We Do We and terrestrial podcasts. *All members get 20% off paid programming. A limited number of free spots are also available for Warrior & Goddess level members. Email [email protected] to inquire about free tickets.

Our program costs go directly towards compensation of the instructors and staffers who work the event. We want to make programming as accessible as possible to anyone who is interested, however, so we offer volunteer opportunities in exchange for membership, as well as free community tickets to each program (number varies depending on capacity of the class). Email [email protected] for more info or to find out more about these opportunities for a specific event.
