Freida will discuss her work with Iranian Progressives, the carceral systems in North Africa and the Middles East, various abolitionist efforts that are taking place in the region, and she will dive deeper into the work of Nagres Mohammadi and Golrokh Iraee.

Freida Afary is an Iranian American librarian, translator, writer. She produces the blog Iranian Progressives in Translation and is a co-founder of the Alliance of Middle Eastern and North African Socialists.
