Calling all would-be mentors for It’s Not *Not* Networking! An Anti-Valentine’s Matchmaking Soiree, hosted by WCCW on February 17, 2019, 3-8pm. You have experience & expertise, we have an audience of women and non-binary folks who have ideas, ambitions, and lots of questions. And in one fun afternoon in NELA, we hope to bring you all together!
Round 1 of this NOT networking event will be Mentor-Mentee Matchmaking. You’ll have the chance to participate in 1-2 rounds of mentee “speed dating” with people in your field or an adjacent field. If you meet someone you think would be cool to talk with more and they feel the same, we’ll put you both in contact following the event. (NBD if you don’t find a match!) In between & during rounds that don’t involve you, you’ll have even more time to low-key no pressure network and meet new people from your field and the WCCW community.
By participating in the event, you agree to meet with your mentee at least one more time, and take the lead on coordinating the meeting. We hope you can form a long term and mutually nourishing connection, and we’ll provide everyone who participates with some guidelines for how to get the most out of your mentor-mentee relationship.
Participating as a Mentor is easy! Just fill out the application form and tell us about you and what you’d hope to offer and receive from your ideal mentor-mentee relationship.
Signing up indicates your interest in being a mentor, but it does not indicate a commitment to attending the event. We will confirm the date and final participants in January 2019. The event will take place on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Mentors should plan to attend between 3-5pm.
If this sounds great & you know someone else who would make a good mentor too, please share the application with them. We are especially looking for queer, non-binary, and trans folks, and people of color.
