Mapping Feminist LA

Mondays , January 9th, February 6, 7:30-9:30pm
Free

Join a working group that will meet monthly this Winter as we continue discussions on the building and concept design of a collaborative mapping tool designed to help feminists find valuable resources in Los Angeles. Our next series of meetings will focus on some of the following questions:

  1. How do we define a feminist resource?
  2. What feminist resources, locations and spaces would we include in both digital and printed maps of our city?
  3. What are the best practices in canvassing neighborhoods as we seek to represent all feminist communities and areas of LA?
  4. How can a mapping tool of this nature inspire activism and equitable urban planning models as we seek to build a more feminist city?
  5. What role does technology play in women’s lives?

These meetings are open to all who are familiar or curious about the various skills needed to drive this project forward including grant writing, research, UX design, prototyping, public outreach, and software development. This process is evolving and we appreciate your input!

We will meet the first Monday of every month this Winter — December 5th, January 9th, and February 6th.
