Every woman and man, girl and boy should be a feminist and should not be ashamed to call themselves that or feel that it is too powerful as stance. We want to feminism to be a club that people want to be a part of. We aim to create comfortable spaces for dialogue about feminism, or programing around it, for gathering and lighting the fire under each other to stand for this kind of advancement of consciousness, as a community.
We want to nurture the notion that artist, radical, mother, maker, citizen are all powerful identities with the ability to effect change. This is not a women-only club, but a place where we hope to thumb the scales in a way that promotes equality and the value of women and their work. At the most basic level we are promoting and demanding the understanding of women’s creative practices being equal and supporting a community of women who engage in any and all artistic fields through a strong foundation of economic, social and cultural support.
