Un/See/n Poetics Writing Workshop

Thursday, May 31, 2016, 7-9pm
$5 Member $10 Regular Suggested Donation, no one turned away for lack of funds

How do you deal with creative blocks or anxieties or funks? How do you sustain a habitual creative practice while also remaining open to serendipities, detours, and bottomless depths? In this workshop, we will attempt to venture away from our usual ways of thinking, making, and being. Together we will move through a series of writing exercises and experiments with the intention of uncovering hidden imaginative reserves.

Note: This workshop is open to everyone, whether you have a specific artistic practice or not.

Our exercises are inspired by and/or will reference: How to Write (more) by Libros Antena, Grapefruit by Yoko Ono, Tarot imagery, dreams recollection, Alice Coltrane, CA Conrad, Hannah Weiner, Bhanu Kapil, Deborah Hay and others.

Participants will receive one hand sewn notebook. This can be used to record your reflections to our various writing explorations and for beyond!
