In this workshop, participants will learn practical skills necessary to archive, preserve, and protect their digital assets (documents, images, audiovisual materials). The class will go over basic archival principles and concepts, discuss the complex nature of digital media, and explore tools, methods, and best practices for digital preservation. Digital content, unlike traditional analog media (paper records, books, photographs), is especially fragile and requires special proactive care to ensure accessibility and continued use.
