Power with: Art, Magic, and Solidarity with Molly Larkey

Monday, June 27th, 7-9pm
Free

Healing, liberation, creativity, and empowerment become possible when we realize the power that comes from connection. In this workshop, we will discuss what it means to have “power with”, an idea developed by the writer and activist Starhawk, and how this idea encompasses connection to self, to the earth, to the elements, to mystery, to other people and other beings. We will discuss how art can connect us to “power with”, and do exercises to connect us to the creativity inherent in our bodies. Through looking at where we find inspiration and connection, and working through the ways creativity has been suppressed in us, we will think about how a philosophy that incorporates art and magic can challenge capitalism and patriarchy.
