Feminist Business School
September 22nd, 7-10pm
$90 Members / $110 Regular

A feminist business can model new ways of living, working and being together—transforming our relationship to money, to work, to the earth, to our bodies and to each other. In this 3-hour workshop, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to embody feminine and feminist principles in their business. We dive into the concept of the Feminine Economy and approach business as art. Through a series of exercises, we explore the stages of birthing an idea, articulate your core values, begin writing a manifesto, delve into old money stories, and develop practical applications for your business.

This workshop is appropriate for entrepreneurs, executives, non-profit directors, small business owners, artists, and those with an idea they want to make real.”

Jennifer Armbrust is the principal of Armbrust & Co, a creative consultancy where she advises entrepreneurs and executives on Feminist Business Models and innovative practices. She also leads workshops on values and visioning, and writes and speaks about the feminine economy. A graduate of The Evergreen State College (B.A., Critical Theory) her work explores the collisions and collusions of gender, art, business, and economics. Formerly the owner and director of an art gallery in Portland, Oregon, co-founder of an online arts magazine, and principal of a small interactive studio, Armbrust has long been interested in the intersections of business and art and more recently, business as art.

While most WCCW programming is free or donation-based, with no one turned away for lack of funds, we do offer some workshops that have fees associated. This covers materials and allows us to pay the leaders of these workshops for their time and expertise, and to put a small percentage back into WCCW. This income, in addition to memberships, is what lets us keep the doors open and the lights on. We want to make programming as accessible as possible to anyone who is interested though, so we also offer volunteer opportunities and free community tickets to each event or workshop (number varies depending on capacity of the class). Email [email protected] for more info or to find out more about this opportunity for a specific event.
