$20 Donation

Join us for a fundraiser brunch to toast our first year in our Frogtown space and learn more about our friends Project Q! They are converting a vintage airstream trailer into a mobile self esteem-building hair salon serving lgbt homeless youth in L.A. and beyond!

The intersection of feminism and queer identities is the name of the game!

Featuring art by Sina Grace and LondubH Studios, and live music by ModernHuge.
Mini Brunch Buffet and Mimosa Bar by Sip In LA and so much more!

ProjectQ is a passion project of Madin Lopez’s that is highly focused on creating a generation of lgbt homeless youth that love themselves. These youth have the opportunity to create their own destiny, they have a better chance at achieving their goals if they know they are worthy of success.

We have purchased a vintage airstream trailer to create a mobile self esteem building hair salon. By renovating this trailer, i hope to prove to them and myself that tenacity speaks louder than circumstances.

My first event for projectQ was held at the QPOC conference at CSUN in 2012. I have worked at the LGBT youth drop in center on Highland for the past 2 years, giving haircuts to about 30 homeless youth a month. Once the trailer is up and running i plan to take her on the road and help youth in many shelters across the coast (possibly nation) retrieve a sense of self.
Identity is important for these young souls to surpass their demographic’s statistics, which too often ends in overdose, suicide, and hate crimes.
