Bookkeeping for Creatives Workshop

Sat May 30, 2015, 11am-6pm
WCCW: 2425 Glover Place, LA 90031

WCCW presents a comprehensive 6 hour workshop on bookkeeping for artists with
Ferdinand Poon and Mary More!

Every artist is also a business owner. Give your art business a strong financial foundation and the best chance of thriving and prospering in 2015 and beyond. Join us in this 6 hour workshop to learn everything you need to know to keep your personal and business finances in order.

You will learn to:
• Use Microsoft Excel to track revenue and expenses, create spending plans and project budgets, and make financial projections.
• Use Quickbooks to create invoices, track revenue received by customers, pay bills and account for all payments to vendors and government entities. Learn to generate reports that show your activity monthly and make year-end tax preparation easy.

Using sample bank and credit card statements, you will learn to account for every penny and reconcile all business activity in Excel and/or Quickbooks. Once you’ve cemented your basic understanding with us, you can apply your new skills to your own business operations.

All participants will need to have Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel installed before the class on a laptop that can be brought to class.
