Creating soil is a beautiful thing to do. Join us to learn different methods of composting that can be practiced in your home and community. This workshop will be offered by our compost tender (queen?), Marcela Coto with Jeffrey Hutchison of LA Compost and Sarah Rara of the earth activation group. Becky Stark of EAG and LA River Choir will be leading a song for the soil.

Marcela Coto has been managing the vermicompost and compost bins at the WCCW since LA Compost installed them in 2016. She is a founding member of Artemisia, a Worker Owned Cooperative Nursery, specializing in California natives. @artemisiacooperative

Sarah Rara is an artist, poet, and member of Earth Activation Group. An avid gardener, she is interested in restoring habitat for wildlife in urban and suburban settings.

Jeffrey Hutchison is an artist, composter and teacher. He serves as LA Composts NELA regional hub manager.

Becky Stark is an artist, musician and community healing activist. She is the voice of the band Lavender Diamond, creator of the LA River Choir and LA Ladies Choir, and one of the founders of the Earth Activation Group.
